How can I update my current version of macOS?

Even when the new macOS version is available for your computer, you still have the ability to defer the upgrade, simply by updating the current macOS version. To do this, scroll past the information about the new operating system, and you should see any available minor updates for your current version below.

When must I upgrade?

You can ignore the upgrade to the new named macOS version until your current OS version is no longer supported, though we recommend upgrading before the start of the Spring semester each year. Each version of macOS receives patches for approximately 3 years, after which it is no longer supported for general use on College devices.
