The Canvas Dashboard
The Canvas Dashboard is a landing page that you will be taken to upon logging into Canvas. It can also be located by using the icon on the left-hand side of the page, also known as Global Navigation Menu, as highlighted in the screenshot below:

Courses are organized alphabetically, by published and unpublished status, and by respective user roles (for instance, courses in which you are an instructor will be prioritized over courses in which you hold an alternative role). Please note that Canvas displays up to twenty courses on the Dashboard, and that favorited courses are removed from the Dashboard when a course has concluded. The Courses list maintains a record of past-favorited and prior courses should they exceed the twenty the Dashboard contains.
To the right-hand side of the course cards is the To Do section, which contains items to be graded by short-named courses, as well as a preview of upcoming events and assignments in the Coming Up section.
Items to be graded in the To Do section may be accompanied by a small blue circle with a number in the middle, which indicates the number of submitted entries awaiting grading. If there are more items than the To Do section can accommodate, there will be a link to view them beneath the included entries. Learn more about the Dashboard sidebar sections.
