Body
macOS 27 Golden Gate is the latest major version of macOS, released on September 14, 2026. As soon as all core applications have been confirmed to function correctly, the upgrade will be made available to eligible general use Macs. Since the management changes are few and compatibility is generally good, this will be sooner (October/November) rather than later (December, the latest we can defer).
For classroom and other computer lab environments, the computers will be upgraded to the new OS when all academic software is confirmed compatible, but not before the end of the fall semester.
