How to resolve Avaya Softphone setup error: "No auto-configuration file available"

Issue

You are attempting to set up the Avaya Softphone app and get the error: "No auto-configuration file available"

Resolution

  1. Use the gear icon on the error screen and choose manual setup
  2.  Add your extension and self-administration password on the Account tab
  3. Go to the services tab and toggle on the "phone service" (may have to select show details for the menu to expand)
  4. Enter the following information: 
    • Server address: myphone.mtholyoke.edu
    • Server Port: 5061
    • Domain: myphone.mtholyoke.edu
    • Toggle on Use TLS
    • Adhoc Conference address: ConfServer@myphone.mtholyoke.edu
  5. Choose Done
