Overview
Your worker profile is a central point from which you can view information about your job, change your personal information, and access the related actions menu to complete other tasks.
Note: As of 9/17/2024, only staff and faculty employees, contingent workers, and student workers can see the "View profile" button in Workday. If you are a student who does not have an on-campus job, you will not see the "View Profile" button.
Steps
Navigate to your worker profile
After logging into Workday, click the worker profile icon at the top right corner, then click on the View Profile button.
View information on your worker profile
The worker profile page contains your personal and contact information as well as information about your position. Notice the blue worker profile sidebar menu on the left side of the worker profile page. On the right side of the screen, you will see the Summary area, which contains information such as your manager, hire date, full-time equivalent status (FTE), and your public contact information.
Note the numbered areas in the screenshot below. These areas indicate profile information as follows:
- At any time, you can click on the Mount Holyoke logo at the top left of the window to return to the Workday homepage
- Your picture. Pictures are synced with the OneCard system. This article explains how to update your photo in the OneCard system
- Your name. Review information on how to update your name as a staff/faculty member or as a student worker.
- Your pronouns, if you have chosen to share them
- Your job title(s) and department(s).
- Note: Workers with multiple jobs will have a small white circle with blue arrows next to their job title. Click on that icon to see all of your jobs, and to view job details for each.
- The Team button opens the organization chart
- The lower half of the blue worker profile sidebar includes several buttons that link to tasks workers use often, such as Benefits for viewing your benefit elections or Absence for checking your time off balances. You may see the word More at the bottom of the list. Click the More button to expand the menu and see all available options
Using the links in the profile sidebar menu
The blue worker profile sidebar on the left side of the screen contains links to tasks and information. Remember to click the More button to expand the menu, if necessary.
When you open one of these links, the screen that follows may have multiple tabs at the top of the screen. The image below shows that the Tax Elections tab is selected on the Pay menu. Take some time to get familiar with the links available in the worker profile sidebar, and with the tabs on each page.
Using the related actions menu
The Actions button, located under your name and job title, opens the "related actions menu." Click the Actions button to open the related actions menu.
You can hover your cursor over any of the options in the left-hand side of the related actions menu, and they will expand. Managers will have additional options for managing their direct reports. Notice that there is Frequently Used panel in the top left section of the related actions menu. As you use tasks more often, they will be automatically added to this section.
