How to connect to the Alumnae Association file share \\alumfs

Overview

This article is to explain how to connect to \\alumfs for people who already have the correct permissions.  If after following these instructions, you are having issues connecting or think you don't have the correct permissions, please create a ticket.

On Windows

  1. Type \\alumfs into the search bar next to the start button on the desktop and choose enter

  2. This should bring up a window with the main folders on \\alumfs

  3. Select the one you want to access 

On macOS

  1. From Finder choose Go > Connect to Server

  2. Enter smb://alumfs and choose connect

    • If you want to save this server as a favorite, choose the plus icon before choosing connect

  3. Keep the "Registered User" option selected and enter your MHC username and password

  1. Choose connect again

  2. You should then see a prompt to "select the volumes you want to mount on 'alumfs':"

  1. Choose the ones you want (using shift or command to select multiple) and then choose OK
