Body
What to do if you can't log into your MHC Google account due to an issue with Google 2-step verification.
Several situations could result in challenges with Google 2-step verification.
Issue: I don't have access to my 2-step verification methods
This could be because your phone number changed or you don't have access to your phone or any other verification methods you set up prevously.
Resolution
Create an MHC Account access support ticket.
The LITS Technology Help Desk will provide you with 2-step verification backup codes that will enable you to access your account and set up additional 2-step verification methods.
Error: "Your sign-in settings don't meet your organization's 2-step verification policy"
There are two scenarios where you might see this error message:
- You didn't set up Google 2-step verification during the 2-week self-enrollment window following your first MHC Google sign in
- Your only configured 2-step verification method is Google prompts for one device and you're trying to log back into your MHC Google account on that same device.
Resolution to scenario 1: Your MHC Google account was never enrolled in Google 2-step verification
Create an MHC Account access support ticket.
The LITS Technology Help Desk will provide you with 2-step verification backup codes that will enable you to access your account and set up additional 2-step verification methods.
Resolution to scenario 2: You only have Google prompts set up
Log into your MHC Google account on a different device, complete 2-step verification using Google prompts on the device where that is set up. Once you're into your account on the other device, set up additional 2-step verification methods.
