Body
Use Mobility Print to print from personal computers and mobile devices to MFDs across campus.
Overview
Mount Holyoke offers a tool called Mobility Print for students to print from their personal computers and mobile devices. Faculty and staff may elect to also use it on their personal or MHC-issued computers if desired.
LITS has departmental and public printers located around campus (which we fondly call “multi-function devices” or "MFDs" for short) that can make copies, scan and print. MHC students, faculty, and staff can easily store or upload print document to the cloud and then retrieve them from the MFD of their choice.
Follow the one-time installation directions to set up MHC printing on your device.

How to print with Mobility Print
Sending a print job
- Make sure you connect to the campus network on your device.
- Open the file you want to print on your device.
- If your file is stored in Google Drive and you're printing from a laptop/desktop computer, we recommend downloading the file and opening it in a different application (Preview, Word, Acrobat Reader, etc) for the best results and most printer setting options.
- Select Print.
- Select the print queue in the printer destination:
- LITS-Public-Cloud is for students and community members and prints to public MFDs
- LITS-FacStaff-Cloud is for faculty and staff and prints to public and departmental MFDs
- Finalize your desired print settings and choose Print.
- If prompted, enter your MHC Account username and password
- Depending on the type of device you're on, you may be asked for your MHC Account username and password at this point (others will ask for it during the install process).
- You can choose to save this information so you don't need to enter it again next time.
- Be aware that when you change your MHC Account password it will need to be updated where your computer has saved it in order to continue printing.
MacOS users: When you are prompted to enter your MHC username and password on macOS devices
your computer will autofill your computer's username. Remove that and
replace it with your MHC Account username for success. If your credentials are entered incorrectly, you may see an error "Hold for Authentication." Follow these instructions to
resolve the Hold for Authentication Error.
- Once the job has successfully been submitted to the print queue, you may see a message saying that the job is being held in queue for you.
Releasing a print job at the MFD
Follow these instructions to release your print job(s)
Gotchas/pitfalls
-
Mobility Print does NOT work on ChromeOS (Chromebooks)
-
If you get the error "Hold for Authentication" on macOS, follow these instructions to resolve the Hold for Authentication Error.
-
For Android devices, check your device settings that printing is enabled.
-
For iPhones, usually the profile that you install will show up as an option on the main settings page, but if it doesn't search profile and choose VPN & Device Management. You'll be able to install the profile there.
-
If you are unable to view the list of printers or nothing happens, check that you are connected to the campus network (via eduroam, VPN, or hardwired ethernet) and restart the app and/or your device.
