Windows Workstation Management - Active Directory for Workstations

What is it?

Active Directory is an on-campus directory service that provides accounts for users (derived from the MHC account), user groups for determining access rights to directory services, and management via policy for workstation computers. Active Directory is used to group computers by management needs and to provide configuration and access management on them.

Who can use it?

  • MHC Faculty and Staff, indirectly

How do I get it?

Most MHC members do not access Active Directory services directly, but by logging in to a Windows workstation. Certain users can make computer management or access requests, which are fulfilled by the LITS assets/endpoint management team.
