Overview
This article outlines the Microsoft account login and application installation process for MHC students and licensed MHC faculty and staff.
Microsoft Office apps can be installed on personally-owned computers.
Log into Microsoft 365 on the web
- Go to m365.cloud.microsoft
- Select Sign in in the top right
- Enter your MHC email address and choose Next
- Enter your MHC Account password and choose Sign in
- If prompted, answer the "Stay signed in?" question
- On your own device: Say "Yes" if you want
- On a shared device: We recommend choosing "No"
- If prompted, complete Duo MFA
- Select "Approve with Cisco Duo"
- Complete Duo verification as usual
From there you can access your files and online versions of the Microsoft 365 apps.
Install desktop versions of Microsoft 365
- Go to m365.cloud.microsoft
- If you're not already logged in, follow the instructions above to log in
- Select Install and more in the top right
- Select Microsoft 365 apps
- Select Install Office
- Save the installer to your downloads folder
- When it's finished downloading select the installer package to launch the installation wizard
- Follow the steps in the installation wizard to install the applications
Log into a Microsoft 365 desktop application
LITS is aware of a login issue for Microsoft 365 users on macOS computers. We are working on a solution. In the meantime, the online versions of the apps are available to Microsoft 365 account holders.
- Open the Microsoft application of your choice (ex. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
- Select the home icon
- Select Sign in and complete the sign in process following the instructions above
