Modules in Canvas

Modules define the structure of a given Canvas course to participants. They moderate the pace and direction of a course by grouping and organizing content such as readings, forums, activities, quizzes, or a different schema. Depending on how you wish students to navigate the course, modules may reflect topics, units, weeks, etc. To see examples of module organization, visit the “Explore MHC Canvas Courses” page in the Summit site.

Once a module has been created, instructors can add new or existing content. To create a module, click the “Modules” link in the Course Navigation menu and then click the “Add Module” button. A name for the module can be added into the Module Name field. [add images]
