Below, you will find guidance for removing the GlobalProtect software from your computer.
Overview
If you are no longer using the VPN, removing the unnecessary app from your computer is good computer maintenance. This will conserve computer power and disk space for desired activities. You may also find that uninstalling and reinstalling GlobalProtect can resolve issues with the app that have not been responsive to less invasive measures.
Uninstall
Remove GlobalProtect from macOS:
- Run the GlobalProtect installer package, and select uninstall
- Can't find the GlobalProtect installer package?
- Since the package is set to "auto delete" upon completion, you will need to remove the installer from your trash if it is still there or re-download the GlobalProtect installer package from vpn.mtholyoke.edu before you can run it
- After the uninstall is complete, restart your computer
Remove GlobalProtect from Windows:
- Open the Windows Start Menu
- Type Add or remove programs, and then select the best match
- In the Apps and features window, select the search input box and enter GlobalProtect
- Select the entry in the results with a globe icon labeled GlobalProtect
- Select uninstall and follow the instructions
- Once the uninstall has completed, restart your computer
