What is it?

SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences), also known as IBM SPSS Statistics, is a software package used for the analysis of statistical data.

The software is available on select MHC computer lab machines and can be requested for use on personally-owned computers and individually assigned College-owned computers for one year at a time.

Attention macOS users: SPSS has not caught up with the newly released macOS 14, Sonoma. SPSS will come out with SPSS version 30 in December which will be able to run on Sonoma. For now, LITS recommends that macOS users should either wait to upgrade their OS to Sonoma until Spring 2024 or borrow a laptop from the Circulation Desk for working in SPSS. Be sure to request that SPSS be installed on the loaner you check out!

How do I get it?

Get SPSS on your personal computer by choosing the "Request SPSS" button on this page and filling out the form
Find SPSS on Windows computers across campus
Find SPSS on macOS computers across campus

Please note that software licenses on personal computers are limited to 1 year terms after which a renewal needs to be requested.

Hours/Availability

Available on lab computers when labs are open
Available 24/7 on your personal devices once installed
Requests for new installs and renewals are processed during regular business hours when the College is open
