Body
instructions for forwarding voicemails from your campus telephone to your MHC email inbox.
Overview
Voicemail email is a feature where emails are sent to your email address when your voicemail mailbox receives a new voicemail message. The email can include the voicemail message as an attachment or it can be just an alert.
Below find instructions for forwarding voicemails from your campus telephone to your MHC email inbox.
Users with analog phones (the ones with small, unlit screens)
cannot set up voicemail to email forwarding on their own. To see if it's already on, try leaving your extension a voicemail and see if you get an email with the audio file. To request that voicemail to email forwarding be turned on, please
open a phone support ticket.
On your physical Avaya VoIP phone
Before you Start, you'll need:
- A physical Avaya VoIP phone
- An email address associated with your phone account
Through the Visual Voice menu on an Avaya VoIP phone you can change the mode of voicemail email operation.
-
Press the MESSAGES button
-
Depending on how your system is configured, you may be required to enter your voicemail password and then press Done
-
The Visual Voice menu is displayed
-
Use the up and down cursor keys to scroll to the option Email.
-
If this option is not displayed on your phone,
open a phone support ticket to make sure that there's an email address associated with your phone user account
-
The menu displays your current voicemail email mode setting
-
Press Change to scroll through the possible settings:
-

-

-
Alert - Send an email telling you there is a new message but do not attach a copy of the message
-
When the required setting is displayed, press Save
-
To exit without changing the setting, press Cancel

- To be connected to the MHC network either from on campus or via the VPN
