Instructions for connecting to the \\alumfs file share for people who already have the proper permissions.
Overview
This article is to explain how to connect to \\alumfs for people who already have the correct permissions. If after following these instructions, you are having issues connecting or think you don't have the correct permissions, please create a ticket.
On Windows

Type \\alumfs into the search bar next to the start button on the desktop and choose enter

This should bring up a window with the main folders on \\alumfs

Select the one you want to access
Note: Even though you are not prompted to provide your username and password, the file share is checking your permissions using the credentials you used to log into the computer. It won't let someone who doesn't have the correct permissions access any of the folders.
On macOS

From Finder choose Go > Connect to Server

Enter smb://alumfs and choose connect

Keep the "Registered User" option selected and enter your MHC username and password

Choose connect again

You should then see a prompt to "select the volumes you want to mount on 'alumfs':"
- Choose the ones you want (using shift or command to select multiple) and then choose OK
