Below you'll find instructions for removing a delegated account from your Gmail account.
Overview
If someone is set up as a delegate on your MHC Gmail account and they no longer need access to your account, remove them as a delegate by following the instructions below.
Steps
There are two methods for removing a delegated account from a Gmail account.
From the account that granted delegation
- Open Settings using the gear icon in the top right of the inbox, then See all settings
- Choose Accounts
- Select Grant Access to Your Account
- Delete the delegate
NOTE: To use this method, you must log directly into the account which granted the delegation using the account's username and password. If you try to follow these instructions while accessing the account as a delegate yourself, you will not be able to access the settings. Delegates do not have these options for security reasons.
From the original system email sent to the delegate when delegation was granted
If the delegate that should be removed still has access to the message they were sent when they were invited to be a delegate, that email also includes the ability to remove delegate access from that person.
- There is a link in that email which says "To reject this request, please click the link below."
- Select that link to remove the delegate access
Read the Google documentation for Delegate Accounts.
