What is it?
The Avaya Workplace softphone application offers all the same functions you have on your office telephone, from an application installed on your computer.
- Make, take, and transfer calls from your computer
- Access your voicemail on your computer
- Change your voicemail greeting from your computer
If you’re using the Avaya Softphone app from off campus, you’ll need to connect to the college VPN.
The Avaya Softphone application SHOULD NOT be used to make 911 calls. 911 operators will not be able to locate where you are calling from if you call from a softphone. This can delay emergency response times.
Who can use it?
MHC faculty and staff who are already assigned a campus telephone extension and an Avaya VOIP phone.
Don't have a phone or extension yet? Request campus telephone setup.
How do I get it?
Request access to the Avaya Softphone application using the "Request the Avaya Softphone application" button on this page.
Requirements to use the software:
- An MHC campus telephone extension and Avaya VOIP phone assigned to you
- Computer running macOS or Windows operating system (not compatible with Chromebook, iPad, or Surface)
- Integrated microphone and speakers, or headset
- Stable internet connection
- MHC VPN connection configured if using off-campus
Hours/Availability
Requests will be processed during regular business hours when the College is open.
