What are they? Who gets them? What's included?
Overview
Auditors receive MHC Accounts in order to participate in their course.
Who gets them?
Community members and alums auditing courses at MHC.
MHC faculty and staff who audit courses at MHC should use their existing MHC Account for accessing course resources. An additional account will not be provided.
What's included?
OneCard building access
Auditors must get an MHC OneCard in order to enter the academic building(s) for their course, the library, and the student center.
Once you've been informed that your OneCard is ready, come to the LITS Technology Help Desk to get your OneCard printed. Please bring some form of photo ID so we can take your photo for the card.
If you still have a OneCard from a previous semester auditing a course, that OneCard will be re-activated and you won't need to get another one printed.
MHC system access
Auditors do NOT get MHC email addresses. The email address that you provided to the Registrar's Office will be used for communications regarding your MHC course(s).
Note on library e-resources: Please note that some course sites direct students to use online library resources such as research databases and e-journals. Auditors who have agreed with faculty to complete assignments using these student resources will need to come to the Library building and use the computers there for access, per our licensing agreements with online resources.
Standard access includes:
Auditors are also eligible to use our guest printing service.
If needed for the course, auditors are eligible for:
Accessing your MHC Account
Once the Registrar's Office has processed your auditing paperwork they will submit a request to LITS for your MHC Account to be created. LITS will notify you and your instructor that we have received this request and are working on it. Once LITS has completed your MHC Account setup in the learning management system and OneCard, you and your instructor will be notified that your account is ready.
The notification will have the subject line "Auditor account setup complete | Ticket #XXXXXX" and be sent from tdxnotify@mtholyoke.edu or notifications@teamdynamixapp.com. It will include your MHC Account username, which you'll be able to use to complete the account setup steps below.
Once your account is ready, follow these steps to complete your account setup:
- Follow the "forgot password" instructions in this article to set your MHC Account password
- If you're a new auditor, we know you haven't forgotten your password, but that process will be the easiest and most secure one for you to follow.
- If you're an alum, your existing MHC Account password may work without resetting it, though you can always reset it if you need to.
- From there, follow these instructions to enroll in Duo MFA.
- Log into Moodle at moodle.mtholyoke.edu to access your course. (If this class is in the Canvas pilot, then follow these instructions for accessing the course in Canvas.)
If for any reason you're having trouble accessing your MHC Account, please request MHC Account access support.
How to get your OneCard
Once you've been informed that your OneCard is ready, come to the LITS Technology Help Desk to get your OneCard printed. Please bring some form of photo ID so we can take your photo for the card. If you still have a OneCard from a previous semester auditing a course, that OneCard will be re-activated and you won't need to get another one printed.
Once the semester is over, your MHC Account will be deactivated. When the account is deactivated you can no longer use it to log into systems and your OneCard will no longer provide building access.
Auditing another class at MHC next semester?
For each semester that you audit a course, you'll work with the Registrar's Office to be set up as an auditor. As part of that process, the Registrar's Office will coordinate with LITS to ensure that your MHC Account is active, added to the correct course in the learning management system, and has the correct OneCard access. You and your instructor will be notified each semester when your MHC Account and OneCard are ready for that semester and you'll follow the same instructions as above to access your account.
