How to log into your MHC email / Google account

Overview

This article outlines the process for logging into your MHC email account, which is powered by Google. Once you're logged in you can also access other Google apps like Drive, Docs, Calendar, and more. 

Make sure you know your MHC email address and password

Your MHC email address is your MHC username with @mtholyoke.edu at the end. For example if your username is mlyon, then your email address is mlyon@mtholyoke.edu.

The password you'll use to log into your MHC Google account is the same one that you use to log into other MHC systems (like my.mtholyoke, Moodle, or the Volunteer Hub). 

Log in

1. Go to mail.google.com in a web browser like Google Chrome or Firefox
   • If you are already logged into another Google account in the browser you're using, we recommend that you refer to our guidance for managing multiple Google accounts
2. Enter your MHC email address and choose Next
3. Enter your password and choose Next

Complete Google 2-step verification

If this is your first time logging into your MHC Google account:

• You should be prompted to enroll in Google 2-step verification, which is a required security measure for all MHC Google accounts. 

If you're already enrolled in Google 2-step verification you may be prompted to enter a verification code.

• This will happen the first time you log into your account on a new browser or device. Leave the "Don't ask again on this device" box checked to minimize the frequency of this occurring on that device.

Get Oriented

After logging in, you'll find yourself in your MHC email inbox. From there you can use the App Launcher () to navigate to other Google apps like Google Drive or Google Calendar.
