Which services/websites are protected by Duo MFA?
For a full list, review our article How to log into campus systems.
Am I required to use Duo MFA?
All students, faculty, and staff who access Duo-protected services are required to use Duo. This is a security measure to protect your data.
Services available to alums either do not require Duo or have exemptions for alums.
How do I enroll in Duo MFA?
Find full enrollment instructions in our article Duo MFA: Enroll your MHC Account and set up Duo Mobile.
How often will I need to complete Duo verification?
When you complete Duo verification on a given device/browser and confirm that it is a trusted device, you won't be asked for Duo verification again on that device/browser combination for another 12 hours.
If you attempt to access a Duo-protected service on a different device, in a different browser, or in an incognito/private browser session, you can expect to be prompted to complete Duo verification again.
However, completing Duo verification when connecting to the MHC VPN starts a separate 12 hour Duo session, so at maximum you can expect to complete Duo verification twice per day if you are only using one device/browser.
Do I need a smart phone to use Duo?
No. There are many verification methods available that don't require a smart phone. For a full list and LITS guidance, please visit our article Duo MFA: Overview of authentication methods.
